As an integral part of the healthcare team, the nurse aide performs a variety of functions including, but not limited to: bedside care, vital signs assessment, feeding residents and recording their food and liquid intake, helping with medical procedures, and assisting residents to maintain as much independence as possible. Nurse aides must be respectful and compassionate and enjoy helping others as they interact with residents regularly, get to know them personally and build strong relationships with them and their families. Please review these instructions before applying.
Earn-and-Learn
In addition to the traditional student model, RCHS has collaborated with Riverside Health’s Lifelong Health Division to offer an “Earn-and-Learn” option for their Nurse Aide Program. Candidates for the “Earn-and-Learn” option are hired as Hospitality Assistants and paid to complete the RCHS-Nurse Aide program with no tuition cost. Graduates transition into RHS-LLH Nurse Aide roles upon passing their certification exam and successful orientation.
If you are interested in participating in the RH-RCHS Nurse Aide Program “Earn-and-Learn” option, please visit the Riverside Health Careers page and search for “Hospitality Assistant” or contact the Talent Acquisition team at 757-534-5627.
Prospective students seeking to apply for the traditional student option, without the “Earn-and-Learn” work commitment, may apply directly to the Nurse Aide Program by clicking the “Apply” link below. The RCHS traditional Nurse Aide program is still available as an out-of-pocket option.
